The next few months will see a few changes with the Doctors we have available for you. This is due to maternity leave and being a training practice for GPs. Currently we have one of our partner GPs – Dr Maxwell on maternity leave following the birth of her twins Eilidh and Ruaridh late last year. Dr Maxwell will be returning to us late December. We also have Dr Javaid on Maternity leave at the moment after the birth of her second baby boy and we look forward to her returning in November. And finally we will be saying goodbye for a while as Dr Mitchell begins her Maternity leave at the end of June, GOOD LUCK! Dr Fiona Gregor will cover for Dr Mitchell during this time.

We would also like to say CONGRATULATIONS to Dr Laniyi on completion of his GP training. We hope he will continue to locum for us in the future. Dr Braaksma will also continue to Locum for us for the rest of this year. We will be introducing a new Registrar in August.

When you have an appointment to see one of our own GPs, you will now be given a 15 minute time slot instead of the previous 10 minutes.

Some of you may remember a survey we ran a few months back, asking your opinion on changing from 10 to 15 minutes appointments. The results were very positive for 15 minutes, so we’ve made the change.

Sometimes when you come to see the GP you may have a few problems to discuss and individual cases can be more complex, and may require a little more time. We hope that 15 minutes will give that little extra time to allow your consultation to feel less rushed, which we hope will provide better patient care. It may also mean the doctor is less likely to be running late!
